HOW IS A MEDAL MADE ?
Medals are usually made through a die-cast or stamping process. Here’s a general overview of the process:
✅Design: Medal designs are typically created using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The design includes the artwork, text, and any other details included on the medal.
✅Mold making: Molds, also called dies, are made according to designs. The mold, usually made of steel, is used to form the shape of the medal.
✅Casting: For die casting, molten metal is poured into a mold under high pressure. The metal fills the mold and takes on the shape of the design. In tapping, a blank piece of metal is placed between two dies and struck with a heavy hammer or press to imprint the design on the metal.
✅Finishing: Once the medal is formed, it goes through a finishing process that may include polishing, plating, painting or any other decorative treatment to enhance its appearance.
✅Attachments: If the medal is designed to be worn, a ring or other attachment may be added so that it can be hung from a ribbon or chain.
✅Quality Control: Finished medals are quality checked and any defects corrected before packaging and distribution.
