There are generally four categories of embroidered patches based on the proportion of the embroidery area, namely those with 30%, 50%, 75%, and 100% embroidery coverage. These four types of patches differ significantly in appearance, applicable scenarios, and characteristics, which are detailed below.

First, let's look at patches with 30% or 50% embroidery area. Such patches mean that the embroidered part covers 30%, 50% or less of the surface area of the twill backing. During production, we will select a twill backing in your favorite color and then embroider your design on it to make the patch. They are usually suitable for text-only designs, such as name patches, or some simple pattern designs. Because these patches have enough blank space to display information, they can keep the patches in a concise, classic and clean style.

Next is the patch with 75% embroidery area. The embroidered part of this type of patch is more than that of the patch with 50% embroidery area. Patches with 75% embroidery area can highlight larger and centered embroidery design elements. The highlight of the embroidered area is that it can show the height difference between the twill backing and the embroidery texture, giving the patch a stronger sense of hierarchy.

Finally, there is the patch with 100% embroidery area. This is the highest - quality patch we offer. Customers can choose the thread color of the entire patch, and there are no visible twill lines on such patches. A 100% embroidery area patch refers to a patch where all parts of the twill backing are covered by threads.
